Transfer #5

new companion-Elder Martinez

Dear Family,

So I got my new companion this week, Elder Martinez. He has been out for 9 months, so he's just two transfers ahead of me. He just got out of his starting area so he says it's super weird to finally be in a new place. He is from Kaysville, UT and we are getting along great!

Since I dropped Elder Daines off at the mission office on Tuesday, I went with the zone leader, since his comp also went home....so I was the Zone Leader Assistant for 3 days. We went to the final testimony meeting for all the missionaries that were leaving, it was good, Elder Daines gave a great testimony.

Wednesday- Elder Chappell, the Zone Leader,  and I went and did some service, we hung cabinets and trim. They also left their music playing, since she said she couldn't work without music on, so it was nice to hear the radio.

Thursday- Since I was the ZLA for a few days, I got to help with transfers, I went to the library to get the transfer sheet and then had to find where everyone in our zone went and who their new comps were. I got to help send out a few texts, I also had to set up everyone's miles that they are allowed for driving.

Friday- We went and did service pretty much all day. We had to go pick up the Kanesville Elders since we were helping them with some of the service. They were at a funeral for a black brother that had passed away. So we were just sitting and waiting at the church when all these nice Cadillac's started to show up, really nice Cadillac's with chrome rims. I have never seen so many Cadillac's and so many blacks in one place before. There was one short dude that was in the bluest suit I had ever seen, It was fun to watch.

We then went and helped a guy throw out all the garbage that was left in his garage. We then went and helped an investigator sand his stair case. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be sneezing sawdust for days. We then went and helped a lady, who we do game night with, we mowed her lawn and she fed us.

Saturday- I took my new companion around the area

Sunday- We went and saw a new less active, his name is Charles and he wants to start coming back. I guess he was going to the wrong ward for a few weeks. We then went and saw Daniel who we haven't been able to see for 3 months, he is doing pretty good. We mostly just talked to these 2, getting to know them better.

I have changed so much it's crazy! I came to the understanding that I was not that fun at all before LOL....but that has changed a bit. My testimony has grown a lot, then it gets destroyed, then built back up! It sucks, but it's great! I'm also not as fat as I was....I weighed myself this morning and I've lost more weight. :D  I have no clue what I'm doing, I still eat crap all the time...but it's all good!

So here's my week...gotta go!!

Mother's Day!

Dear Family,

So I'm just going to talk about Sunday, Mother's Day, since it was by far the BEST DAY EVER!! So the best thing of course was Skyping with my family.  Awesome to see and talk to everyone, everyone looks about the same, except Brianna looks grown up, Trav looks the same, Little P is just a goof, mom looks good in her new glasses and Papi has a little more grey in his hair. :P

After we Skyped, we went and saw the Keller's, the Bishop's family, so Elder Daines could say good-bye and get some pictures. We then went and had dinner with a member, which was good and then everything started getting dark and green.

We got just the edge of the storm but it was AWESOME!! The lightening was just crazy and I have never seen it so dark and green before. I know my stuff about tornadoes and I know what to do because I used to watch Storm Chasers, so I'm pretty pro. :)

Elder Daines and I took the rental car so we could Skype, so we drove into the storm a bit just to get the feel of what's it like. We were on our way to pick up the other Elders in Kanesville and we got hit hard! Rain was coming down like crazy, power was out by their apartment and it was just like driving in a river, going down a road!

We weren't being stupid...don't worry, but it was SO fun to just be in it! There really isn't any damage here, at least what we have seen so far, but I guess it hit pretty hard in some areas. So yep...that's how my Mother's Day went! :)

1 week until Skyping!

So this week hasn't been very interesting, one thing that happened was, that recall they had on the Cruze's affected our car and it turns out that we did have the problem with the axle. So for the past 4 days we have had a rental car, which is still a Cruze but it's a 2014 one. But the cool thing is, we have a 2500 mile limit with the rental and it doesn't have a Tiwi in it!!!! No stupid little box that yells at you! It has been sooo nice!! Too bad Elder Daines and I can't drive, the Kanesville Elders took it in and they are the only two signed under it...kinda sucks, but it's good at the same time. We would probably just drive it all over if we had it!

It's so weird to not have a Tiwi box in the car because we just drive till Tiwi says "check your speed" then we slow down a bit, now we have to actually watch and see how fast/slow we are going. We have just been getting rids and going places that are further out. What's going to be nice is when we actually get our car back, we will have even more miles because we haven't driven it for 4 days! :)

We did go to a dinner at a Methodist Church, one of the senior couples bought tickets for everyone, so the Kanesville Elders and all of us went. It was different being there and no one wanted to talk to us, they just avoided us, which was kinda funny, but at least we got free food! We also gave a church tour to an elderly lady.

Anyway, I'm emailing pretty fast today, we are trying to hurry because we still have the rental car so we are going shopping. We are also going fishing in our Stake Pres. backyard, he has his own little pond with fish so we are doing that today too.

So yep, another not so super exciting email..sorry. Next weeks letter won't be long either seeing how we would have just talked for Mother's Day and it's Elder Daines last week of his mission so we will be going around saying bye to people.

I gotta go, the other Elders are waiting on me...Hope all is going well and I can't wait to actually TALK to you guys on Mother's Day!!

Love you!

Week of Service

So this week has been full of service, we didn't even wear our white shirts for two days. We spent 3 days putting up a fence and building a gate, we helped with some other Elders move someone, mowed lawns, re-did a flower bed and filled holes in the ground. We also had meetings all day Sunday so we didn't do much that day.

I have to call and make an appointment with the Chevy dealer here because of the recent recalls with the Cruzes, so I will get that set up, then I have to report to the Senior Missionary that is over all the cars. I needed to call him anyway because we got a chip at the very top of our windshield, which you couldn't see while we are sitting in the car, but it cracked more last night...all the way to the bottom...so now I have to tell him that, not looking forward to that. But I guess I'm in charge of the car since I get everything dealing with the car mailed to me. Well, this shows how awesome my week was when I talk more about the car, than what I did for the week! lol

We did hear there were tornadoes and we have all been praying for them to just wipe out most of our area! lol (no one hurt of course) This place just needs to be leveled and just start over. It's pretty bad.

I can't wait to Skype on Mother's Day! I'm super excited to you show you guys this super sexy tan line from my watch! LOL It's soooo bad, I just laugh when I see it. :) Can't wait to see and hear you guys on Mother's Day!!!
